POLQA Algorithm Testing Solution

Project Overview

POLQA is a new generation of speech quality assessment standards, suitable for assessing voice quality in fixed-line, mobile communication networks, and IP networks. POLQA has been established by the ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union) as the recommended specification P.863 and can be used for high-definition voice, 3G, 4G/VoLTE, and 5G network voice quality assessment.

An Introduction

The software's noise playback is written according to the ETSI ES 202 396-1 standard. The software can be calibrated for equalization as required and in accordance with the procedures outlined in the standard, enabling the playback of 4+1 background noise in the laboratory.

In addition to this, the software also features a noise recording module that allows users to record ambient noise and then play it back in the laboratory.

The equalization calibration of the playback system is an essential part of restoring the acoustic field effect. This part consists of three major steps: individual speaker calibration, unilateral speaker synchronization calibration, and 4+1 synchronization calibration. Multiple sets of EQ parameters are involved during noise playback.

In addition to standard noise playback, the software also supports playing noise through a specified speaker. It is also possible for each speaker to play a different noise file.

The software's noise recording module supports the recording of background noise through 2-channel or 4-channel inputs, allowing for the capture of ambient noise based on the equipment available and specific requirements.

The recorded files will be saved and can subsequently be played back in the laboratory.
